This Valentine’s Day, the new TV Show This Close aired on Sundance Now, staring Deaf actors Shoshannah Stern and Josh Feldman! This Close is described as a serious comedy that brings light to living as deaf people, both the good and the bad. Ms. Stern and Mr. Feldman play roommates Kate and Michael, who are both deaf. Unlike Freeform’s Switched At Birth, the camera will focus on the actor’s signs without cutting them off (allowing deaf people that know sign language to keep up in real time). We also see some familiar faces, like Marlee Matlin and Nyle DiMarco! Full of drama and hilarious deaf moments, this show is on track to be a hit with the Deaf community.
Shoshannah Stern is known for her roles in Jericho and Weeds. Josh Feldman stared in Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups as Carter in 2013.
