Lou Ferrigno Hospitalized

Lou Ferrigno, known best as the original Incredible Hulk and weightlifting star, was admitted to the hospital after a pneumonia shot left fluid in his bicep. Ferrigno tweeted, “Went in for a pneumonia shot and landed up here with fluid in my bicep. I’ll be ok but it’s important that you keep an eye on who’s giving the shot and make sure they not only swab the spot correctly but that you watch the needle come out of the package.”

Dr. William Schaffner told CNN that it could simply be a reaction to the vaccine or a mistake while it was being administered. The skin may not have been appropriately disinfected, or the nurse may have mishandled the needle. The shot is one of two that is recommended by the Center for Disease Control for adults 65 and over.

Luckily, fans were encouraging and supportive- making jokes about Ferrigno getting angry and trashing the hospital while sporting those classic purple shorts and bulging green biceps.

We wish Mr. Ferrigno a speedy recovery and hope he’s well in time for the holidays!

Deaf Spotlight: Shaheem Sanchez

Do you remember a viral video about a deaf dancer teaching Usher to sign his name? That dancer’s name is Shaheem Sanchez! Shaheem is an accomplished dancer, with several videos online demonstrating his incredible talent. He feels vibrations and uses them to keep the rhythm while he dances.

Shaheem has been a constant inspiration to his family: His little brother Kida famously won So You Think You Can Dance in 2016 and credits Shaheem with teaching him how to dance. His sister also spoke in a video about how his brother pushed her to try new things, like basketball.

Keep up the good work, Shaheem!
